Coach Taylor was a 4 Year Varsity starter for Sunset High School in Portland, OR. and the 2009 State Player of the Year.

Following high school, Kevin played 2 years at Western Nevada College where he was the 1st Team All League as a freshman (Only other freshman to be named 1st team was Bryce Harper)

Coach Taylor then signed a scholarship to play baseball at Arizona State. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 36th round of the 2011 MLB draft and played 3 years in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization .

Coach Taylor played two years of independent baseball for the Traverse City Beach Bums and Laredo Lemurs and signed a contact with the New York Mets. He was a Double-A All Star in 2017 with Mets affiliate Binghamton Rumble Ponies

 Kevin is Married to wife Erin and they recently welcomed their first child Kooper
